Thomas Edward Schirmer, 87, of Ralston, Nebraska, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 29, 2026.
Tom was born July 23rd, 1938 to Edward Bernard Schirmer and Dorthy Alice Schirmer in Wisner, Nebraska. He attended elementary school in Wisner and graduated from Wisner High School in 1956. He received a Bachelor of Art in Education from Wayne State College in 1964. He furthered his education and received a Master of Science in 1971.
Tom married his first wife, Jeanie Suva on 7/30/66.
Tom taught high school mathematics and computer science for 35 plus years and retired from Plattsmouth Public Schools. He spent many Spring seasons with the Boys high school golf team as the head coach.
Tom enjoyed his retirement job of working at Omaha Steaks for 25 years where he was awarded the 1 million dollar sales award.
He had an entrepreneur mindset always coming up with new ideas and inventions.
Tom married Vivian Peters on March 18th, 1983.
They combined their families and raised their 5 daughters in Ralston, Nebraska.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Vivian Schirmer; his children, Jennifer (Tom) Myers and their children Jake, Josh, and Justin; Jodi (Brad) Kisicki and their children Cali and Leo; Jamie Logan and her children Wesley, Jessica, Jaelynn, and Jaden; Stacie (Mike) Klingbeil and their children Karlie, Brooke, Luke, Laura, and Lindsey; Karie (Joe) Feyen and their son Bodie; and 6 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jeanie (Suva) Schirmer and his parents Edward and Dorthy Schirmer.

The family would like to thank the caregivers and community at Immanuel: The Lighthouse and Bickford on Hickory Assisted Living for the care and compassion they offered Tom. There are no words to express our gratitude.
