Susan Kay Beaumont (October 3, 1947 – July 11, 2026)

On July 11, 2026, Susan Kay Beaumont experienced full, complete and glorious healing when she was welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sue was born to Allan and Pauline Blackman on October 3, 1947, in Cadiz, Ohio.

As the daughter of a Methodist minister, Sue moved around with her family to various communities in Ohio, including Akron, Goodyear Heights and Mayfield, graduating from Mayfield High School in 1965.

She met the love of her life, Larry, in 1964 at Lakeside Christian Church Camp in Ohio. Sue attended Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky, with a degree in elementary education where she was in the choir and traveled quite a bit with friends, which certainly included trips to Michigan to visit Larry. After graduation, she and Larry were married on June 14, 1969. Larry and Sue lived for a few years near Lansing, Michigan, where they each began their careers, Larry in mechanical engineering, and Sue as a teacher.

On a vacation to Colorado in 1973, Larry and Sue fell in love with the mountains, and decided to move west. It was in the foothills of Colorado where they put down roots and started a family, giving birth to Michelle in 1974, and Mitchell in 1979.

While Michelle and Mitch were growing up, Sue was a stay-at-home mom, focusing on their family and their home. She took up sewing, which blossomed from a wonderful hobby to one of her most proud accomplishments in life. She hand-made most of her children’s clothes when they were little, and each piece was woven with her love, and over the years she created many pieces for family and friends, including Michelle’s wedding dress, even altering her Mom’s wedding dress for both Michelle and Mitch’s weddings. She created prom dresses for Michelle and made a handmade quilt for every person in the family. She also spent several years volunteering for the Hospice of St. John in Denver, a role she loved dearly.

After Mitch left for college, Sue dove into a new purpose, naturopathy, eventually earning a Doctor of Naturopathy degree and launching a business to help clients feel well again.

Larry’s work often took him out of town, so Sue was the rock, holding everything down until he could come back home. When the family was transferred from Colorado to Connecticut for two and a half years, she made the most of every church function and new friendship to fill the time until they could move back home.

Frequently you could find the Beaumonts at church where Larry and Sue both sang in the choir and Sue often attended Bible Study. Sue ran the prayer ministry at multiple churches over the years. If the phone was ringing at the house, there was a good chance someone was calling in a prayer request, and Sue was on it! She loved supporting friends and family by lifting them up in prayer.

Sue was a fierce advocate and fan of her children and grandchildren, attending every game and concert she could possibly fit into their schedule. When Michelle was in high school she attended every dress rehearsal, arranged for each performance to be videoed and helped transport to all kinds of musical competitions. During Mitch’s many baseball games, her voice could be heard from the stands, yelling encouragement along the way.

She is survived by her siblings, Dave (Barb) Blackman and Alice (Bob) Austin, her husband, Larry, her two children Michelle (Scott) Perry and Mitchell (Annette), her five grandchildren, Adam, Shellyn, Bryson, Lucas and Trenton, and nephews David (Abby) Blackman, Scott (Ann) Blackman, Phillip Austin and Allan (Vickie) Austin. She was preceded in death by her dad, Allan, and her mom, Polly.
