Scott Alan Keffer

Scott Alan Keffer was born on November 8, 1960, and lived a life defined by dedication, loyalty, and a genuine love for the people and activities that mattered most to him.

Scott graduated from Platteview High School in 1979, where his love of sports was already evident. He continued that passion at Peru State College on a baseball scholarship, playing first base and batting left—a role in which his glove and arm shined.

For 37 years, Scott worked at Farris Engineering, a place where his work ethic and dependability were as consistent as the man himself. When he retired, he did so with intention—choosing to spend time with his family and enjoying what he loved most: fishing. Whether on the water or talking about the next trip, fishing with family and friends was where Scott felt at peace. Even when he wasn’t on the water, he could usually be found on his boat in his garage, fiddling with whatever instruments or gear he thought would help make his next trip just a little more successful than the last.

Scott embraced life through competition and time well spent with those he loved. He enjoyed participating in many sports and activities, including golf, bowling, softball, boating, playing pool, horseshoes and cards—especially poker. Always willing to try something new, he even took a turn at crate racing at I-80 Speedway, a reminder of the curiosity and courage he carried throughout his life. He appreciated having a good drink with friends, telling stories, and was an avid fan of all things sports, especially those involving the Huskers. Football Saturdays were a particular favorite, where he could be found wearing red and usually yelling at the TV.

In 1994, Scott met the love of his life, Cindy, on a blind date. They soon married, beginning a partnership that lasted 35 years. Their marriage was built on commitment, shared adventures, and unwavering support—a bond that shaped their family and all who knew them.

Scott left us to pursue his next great adventure on December 18, 2025. He is preceded in death by his father, Bill, and mother, Flo, and survived by his wife, Cindy Keffer, sister, Robin Lorsch (Josh), brother, Craig Keffer (Jacque), son, Colt Keffer, daughter, Dallas Keffer, stepdaughter, Nicole Hackendahl (Mark), four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of the game—whatever the game happened to be—and the way he loved and showed up for his family every day. His legacy lives on in the stories told, the time shared, and the values he modeled with quiet dignity through a life well lived.

We will love and remember him always.
