In Loving Memory of Scott Dugan

Scott Dugan was the kind of person you didn’t just meet — you experienced. Loud, quick-witted, full of heart, and unapologetically himself, Scott had a story (or five) for every situation, and he told them in a way that made you laugh, think, or completely lose track of what the original topic was… and somehow still land the perfect punchline.

He was a loving husband, a loyal son and brother, and a fiercely devoted friend — but above all else, Scott loved being a dad. His daughters, Katie and Emily, were the absolute center of his world. He was so proud of the young women they’ve become, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. His love for them ran deep, and he carried it with him in every part of his life.

That same love extended to his bonus kids, Maceal and Alex, who he welcomed with open arms and loved like his own. And when he became a grandpa — well, that just opened up a whole new part of his heart. He lit up around Matthew, Theo, Lyle, and Bryn, and they absolutely adored their Grandpa right back.

Photography wasn’t just a passion — it was his profession and his purpose. Scott had a way of capturing the little things: a look, a laugh, a quiet moment. Through his lens, he told stories that words couldn’t quite capture. He helped us all slow down and see life’s beauty in a way we might’ve missed otherwise.

He leaves behind his wife, Kimberly; his daughters, Katie (fiancé Isaiah Zendejas) Dugan and Emily Dugan; his bonus kids, Maceal (Nate) Pechacek and Alex (Kathi Philips) Jespersen; his mom, Linda Boyle; his siblings, Erin (Justin) Rainey and Shawn Dugan; and many nieces and nephews.

He’s also survived by a big extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and more friends than we can count — many of whom he loved like family.

Scott was preceded in death by his stepdad, Larry Boyle — who was so much more than a stepdad — and his brother, Kevin Dugan. Wherever they are, we hope they’ve settled in — because Scott’s probably halfway through a story with at least three side tangents and no punchline in sight (yet).

Scott was bold, funny, passionate, and fully, unapologetically himself — and that’s exactly how we’ll remember him.
