Obituary

Scott Everett Carnahan was born on March 23, 1970, at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, IA. He was the second son of Hugh William Carnahan and Virginia Carnahan (Parsons). Scott grew up in Melcher-Dallas, IA, and graduated from Melcher-Dallas High School. He was active in Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle Scout. Scott’s father, Bill, instilled a strong work ethic in him, and Scott worked hard all his life.

Scott married Angelica Carnahan in 1993 and to this union were born four children. Scott loved to take care of his wife, and often he would gift her with things she didn’t even know that she needed. Scott and Angelica were married for 33 years. They enjoyed many activities together, and with their family, including fishing, camping, golfing, and hunting. Scott was very proud of his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He also enjoyed collecting weaponry and shooting guns.

Scott worked for many years at Firestone in Des Moines, and then he began over-the-road trucking for SAIA. He was appreciated for his work ethic and personal responsibility. Scott made friends easily ad enjoyed talking to people. He was a person who was always looking out for others.

Scott is survived by his mother, Ginger; his wife, Angelica; his brother-in-law, Armando; his children, Pamela (Corey) Pinks, Tanya Carnahan (Ryan), and Shea Carnahan; as well as three grand-children, Tavian Pinks, Mia Rincon-Pinks, and Ezekiel Pinks. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Carnahan; his father-in-law, Jose’ Rincon; his older brother, Billy Carnahan; and his beloved son, Sean Carnahan.

When Scott died, his family and friends lost a great man. He will be eternally loved and sorely missed.

Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 3:00pm, at Woodward United Methodist Church, 108 West Fifth Street, Woodward, Iowa. Family will receive visitors from 2:00-3:00pm, and the service will be followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
