Ruth Elaine Cogdill

Ruth E. Cogdill, 86, of La Vista, NE, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Heritage Ridge Memory Care Facility in Bellevue, NE. Ruth was born on April 24, 1939, in Cheyenne, WY, the daughter of Roy W. and Ruth L. (Carpenter) Jones. She married Charles Cogdill on August 10, 1957, in Cheyenne, WY. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1997. Ruth spent her life as a homemaker and lovingly raising her children and grandchildren. Ruth enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Charles, parents Roy and Ruth Jones, her brother Warren Jones and her sister Virginia Griser.

Ruth is survived by her sister Joan (Paul) Shorock, daughters Janet (Tim) Beasley, Sandra (Mike) Mann, Stacia (Scott) Burt, grandchildren Marc (Alicia) Beasley, Cristen Beasley, Renee (Casey) Miller, Jess (Mike) Seydlitz, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:30 on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Bethany Funeral Home in La Vista with Chaplain Curtis Rainge Officiating.
