Margaret "Peggy" Suchsland

Margret “Peggy” Lee Suchsland entered the world with a spark on June 8, 1935, in Salem, Nebraska. Her joyful journey took her through Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Dawson, Nebraska, where she met the love of her life, Dale Suchsland. In 1952, they embarked on a beautiful, blessed marriage that spanned 65 incredible years of shared love and laughter.

Though named Margret, she truly lit up the world as "Peggy." She was a fiery, charismatic woman packed with wonderful spunk, known for lighting up any room she walked into while lifting up everyone around her. As the ultimate matriarch, Peggy poured boundless love and adoration into her massive, growing family. She had a rare gift for finding humor in any situation, keeping everyone laughing and flashing her signature glowing smile through life’s greatest adventures and smallest moments alike.

A natural-born host, Peggy turned every meal into a grand celebration. Whether she was cooking a massive feast for holiday gatherings or setting an extra plate for out-of-town guests, her food was pure love made edible. Every single bite carried her warmth, and sitting at her table was a true privilege.

When she wasn't bringing the family together, Peggy was cheering at the top of her lungs as a diehard Nebraska Cornhuskers football and volleyball fan, never missing a televised game. Her creative spirit knew no bounds—she loved sewing beautiful clothes from scratch, decorating, cooking, and losing herself in romance novels. Above all, her favorite role was serving as the energetic nucleus of her family. She lived out her dream every day as a devoted wife, friend, confidant, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy lives on in her unstoppable warmth, witty conversations, refreshing candor, and unmatched ability to unite the people she loved

Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years Dale Suchsland; parents James and Neoma Kanaly; sister Connie Arnold; son-in-law David Hernandez; great grandson Raymond Beebee.

She is survived by her daughter Debbie Hernandez of Omaha; son Scott (Viola) Suchsland of Omaha; 5 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
