Louis "Ron" Gasper, Sr., January 12, 1935 - January 5, 2026
Our hearts are saddened with the passing of an amazing man, our father, Louis Ronald Gasper Sr. Born January 12, 1935, the Lord called him home on January 5, 2026. He has joined his loving wife, JoAnn, to begin their eternal ‘Heavenly Ocean Voyage’.
He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn, parents Sam and Pauline Gasper, siblings Sam, William, Katheryn and Doris. He is survived by his four children: Louis (Carole) Gasper, Jr., Russell (Anne) Gasper, Susan Sevener, Judy Gasper-Foreverfree (Tony); grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Louis was fondly known as Boompy and for having “favorites” … Everyone was “His Favorite”. Louis had many accomplishments. However, his greatest accomplishment was his family.
He was a typical young boy until he met the love of his life JoAnn. He enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1953 with plans to return and marry JoAnn in 1954. He never lost focus of supporting his loving wife and family. He proudly served his country for a total of 32 years, both active duty and active guard. He earned a college degree in psychology in 1978 and retired as a Chief Petty officer in 1995.
Louis was an incredibly compassionate man who opened his home to all. Guidance did not stop at the door. His generosity coined him as a man “who would give the shirt off his own back”. His family gleaned from his strong sense of humbleness and carry on his values. His interests included photography, love for fossils and rock formations, birds, and extreme love for his loyal puppies. Our family’s memories are through Dad’s eyes. He not only left a wealth of love he created Our Family’s lineage through his eyes embracing candid endearing photo and video moments.
