Loren Gabriel "Gabe" Godsey was born on September 10, 1977, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Roland “Butch” and Laurie Godsey. He was raised in Papillion, NE, alongside his younger brother, Wade. Gabe spent his childhood camping with family and friends, fishing, hunting, and riding four-wheelers, always drawn outdoors with the people he loved most. He graduated from Platteview High School in Springfield, NE, in 1996. Over the years, Gabe held a variety of jobs, from farming to truck driving, and for the last 15 years, he proudly served the City of Papillion in the Public Works Department.

In 2013, Gabe married the love of his life, Amber Zimmerman. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed two daughters, Adalyn “Addy” (10) and Ivy (6), who were the light of his life.

Gabe had a big heart, a ready smile, and a gift for making connections with everyone he met. He was always willing to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer a warm meal. Like his father, Butch, Gabe had a passion for cooking, grilling, and smoking meats, often bringing loved ones together around the table. Family and friends were the cornerstone of his life, and his pride in providing for them was unwavering.

He will be deeply remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, generosity, and unshakable love for his family.

Gabe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Loren “Buck” and Helen Vrooman, and Orval and Frieda Godsey, Aunt, Barbara Edwards, Cousins, Cassie Vrooman Keen, Dwight Edwards, and Philip Comer.

He is survived by his wife, Amber; daughters, Adalyn “Addy” and Ivy; parents, Roland “Butch” and Laurie Godsey; brother, Wade (Jill) Godsey; nieces, Emerson and Charlie Godsey; parents-in-law, Michael and Judy Zimmerman; brothers-in-law, Matthew and Ryan Zimmerman and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
