Linda Ellen Moninger

Linda Ellen Moninger of Ralson, Nebraska passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025 at the age of 77. She was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles and Dorothy Pugh. Linda attended Tech High School where she was involved in cheer, choir and synchronized swimming. She caught the eye of her husband, Stan, when she came in to the grocery store he was employed at. After their first encounter, she said, “I’m going to marry that cowboy” and they eloped shortly after on July 26, 1964.

Linda took much joy in hosting family and friends, decorating, cooking, sewing, painting, attending church, and supporting Husker football and her daughters’ activities. She was passionate and everyone knew when one of her daughters was in the pool or the Huskers had scored. Linda loved to travel, planning yearly family vacations and, ultimately, fulfilling her dream of visiting Hawaii and Alaska with her husband.

Linda said one of her greatest joys was becoming a grandmother to Spencer and Connor. She marveled at every milestone and bragged about them to anyone who would listen. The holidays were special to her; especially birthdays and Christmas. Nothing made her happier than hosting the holidays in her home. She loved surprising loved ones with special gifts and parties even if she was not good at keeping it a secret.

Linda worked hard, advancing in her career at Pamida, never letting a lack of a higher degree hold her back. Her daughters learned from her the value of education, hard work, and the belief that anything is possible no matter who you are or where you come from. She, herself, came from humble beginnings and was called to give back by sponsoring families during the holidays, sewing masks for others during the pandemic, supporting ICU infants with various sewing projects, and helping serve Thanksgiving meals at the Open Door Mission.

Linda struggled with multiple progressive health issues over the years, ultimately, passing peacefully while at Josie Harper Hospice House on August 31, 2025. Her family is comforted to know she is now resting in peace. Linda was proceeded in death by her parents, Charles and Dorothy Pugh and her husband, Stanley Moninger. She is survived by daughters, Robin Moninger; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Mike Klaebisch; grandsons Spencer and Connor Klaebisch; brother and sister-in-law, Bob (Charles) and Joyce Pugh and a host of family and close friends.

Memorials may be directed to the Moninger family or to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
