Jack was one of ten children born to Frank and Helen Roy. He was raised and lived in Nebraska his entire life. After high school he joined the U.S. Army. After leaving the military, he worked for a short time for the City of Omaha Gas Dept. before taking a job at Continental Can, where he had a storied 40-year career before retiring. Jack married Alice Ruff in 1961 and to this union 3 sons were born. They were married 53 years until her death in 2014. Throughout his life he enjoyed traveling with his family in their camper to many US destinations and attending many sporting events for his sons and then grandchildren. While he was a Nebraska native, he was an avid Oklahoma Sooners Football fan and cheered for them every Saturday along with whoever was playing against the Huskers that week. Once he retired he and Alice took trips which usually meant trying their luck at various casinos and they were never ones to turn down a free buffet or room stay. While he didn't have any hobbies he very much enjoyed his routine of a daily morning coffee with his Winchell's Crew as they shared many stories and laughs, while trying to solve world problems. He was very proud of his own military service but he was extremely proud to have Martin, Ezekiel and Jayden also be part of the US Army.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Alice. He is survived by their 3 sons and their families.
