During his service, he earned several honors, including Expert Rifleman, before his discharge on November 4, 1970. He continued his commitment to his country by serving in the United States Naval Reserves until 1973.
He met Cheryl Katusin and they were married on September 16, 1972.
Jim enjoyed hunting with his son and grandson, going to the farmer’s market with Cheryl and Olivia on Sunday mornings, duck hunting or spending the morning on the phone with his best friend Dana. He also enjoyed all of the vacations, family dinners, and overall family time.
