Geraldine E Cunningham was born on May 14, 1931 in Ashland, Nebraska to Dean and Ruth Smith of Ashland. She was oldest of four children. From a young age, she was known for her kindness, strength, and the gentle way she cared for those around her.

She married Leonard Cunningham on January 14, 1950. Together they built a loving home and family. She was the proud mother of Robert Cunningham, Charles Cunningham and James(Margie) Cunningham. A devoted grandmother to Tracy (Pat) Floral, Louis Cunningham,Jamie Cunningham,Joseph (Jennifer) Cunningham, Karrie (Rick) Duffield, Jeffrey (Chrissy) Cunningham, Daniel (Ashley) Cunningham, Justin Cunningham, Lauren (Mark ) Lucas and Alyssa (Ross) Jones. Great grand children Trisha, Alexus, Tabatha, Dallas, Katie, Conner, Samantha, Nate, Leo, Iris, Ruby, Greyson, Anderson, Brielle, Weston, Kyeson and Judson. Great great grandchildren, Julien,Adalynn, Payton and Chloe. All of which were her pride and joy.

Throughout her life, Geraldine worked as an elementary school lunch lady,where she was respected for her dedication, compassion, and strong work ethic. Children were her passion and loved what she did. Beyond her professional life, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, reading and always taking care of everyone. Family was everything to her.

She was a woman of great heart—known for her wisdom, kind heart, and her unwavering love. Her home was a place of comfort, her presence a source of peace, and her love a gift felt by everyone who knew her. Door was always open for a warm meal and hug.

Geraldine departed this life on November 21,2025 peacefully in her home. She leaves to cherish her memory with siblings, friends and relatives whose lives she touched

Proceeded in death by husband Leonard Cunningham. Parents Dean and Ruth Smith, brother Robert Smith and daughter in law Roni Cunningham.

Private Family Inurnment at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
