Franklin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years Susan M. Smith; parents Charles and Dorothy Smith.
He is survived by his children Doug Smith, Robert Smith, and Shari Smith; granddaughter Alexa (Jason) Shea; great-grandson River Shea.
