Dennis Alvin Parsley

Dennis Alvin Parsley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 80. He was born on March 10, 1945, in Breckenridge, Minnesota and raised in Wahpeton, North Dakota before embarking on a remarkable journey that would span decades.

A stalwart in the field of telecommunications, Dennis dedicated much of his professional life to Bell Systems, where his expertise and passion resonated through his work. He also held numerous community roles that showcased his commitment to improving the lives of those around him. As a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church for an incredible 60 years, his faith and dedication to his church community were evident in everything he did. Dennis proudly served on the Ralston Sports Committee from 2000 to 2025 and held positions on the Ralston Board of Adjustment and Ralston Civil Service Commission from 2003 to 2025. A founding member of the Ralston Jaycees, his involvement with the Ralston Girls Softball organization spanned 50 years, during which he coached, volunteered, and organized activities that fostered a love for the game among countless young athletes. The softball field truly became his second home, and his efforts to enhance the facilities will be remembered by many.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dennis was an avid supporter of Nebraska football, volleyball, and softball, often cheering passionately for his favorite teams. He had a creative side as well, engaging in woodworking, gardening, and enjoying long drives in his convertibles while listening to his favorite country music tunes.

He is survived by his cherished wife Delores; daughters Dawn Harwood, Deanna (Mikel) Smith, and Danette Parsley; grandchildren Carly (Steven), Regan (Alexander), Jackson, and Maguire; great-grandchild Luella; brothers Norvel (Emily), Bruce (Susan), and Darrel (Joanne); sister-in-law Barb (Gerry) and brother-in-law Gene (Cari).

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Anna Parsley, and his sister Nadine (Ben) Dorn.
