David J. Jansen

David J. Jansen, 65 of Papillion passed away at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha on July 16th, 2025 after a 2.5 year battle with cancer.

After being born and raised in Storm Lake Iowa, Dave moved to the Omaha metro area and made his home there. Together with his wife Denise, they raised Gina, Alana & Krystal and later on spent as much time as possible with their grandchildren. Dave spent almost 33 years at TSA Manufacturing in a variety of roles across the business and over that time they became an extended family.

Outside of family and work, Dave was most comfortable when he was outside. Camping with Denise & the grandkids, running his mowing business on nights and weekends, cooking on the grill or assisting family. He was rarely sitting still unless it was a Creighton basketball game. As the cancer progressed attending games in person was traded in for watch parties at the house, but regardless of the result he was rarely spotted out and about without at least a Bluejay hat on. Over the years, Dave played basketball and softball, bowled a perfect game, ump’d softball, coached basketball, and cheered at countless kids, grandkids and nieces/nephews sports games. Dave & Denise loved to both attend and host family gatherings, from their annual 4th of July party, attending the rotating family golf event or other family events. He was always looking forward to the next gathering and chance to catch up.

Dave is reunited with his parents Fred and Rita Jansen, brother John Jansen and daughter Gina McKenna. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Denise Jansen; children Alana (Clint) Whitmarsh, Krystal (Logan) Benteman; grandchildren Eliana, Hailey, Graysen, Ava, Cecilia, and Dawson; siblings Ken (Mary) Jansen, Jim (Radina) Jansen, Joleen (Doug) Doty, Pat (Rob) Henderson, Joe (Nancy) Jansen; sister-in-law Glenda Jansen; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Dave was not one to be comfortable in formal clothes and his choice of golf outfits tended to be colorful. He left wishes on what he wanted to be buried in, so to match that we encourage you to come dressed in your favorite sports gear or bright outfit as we celebrate Dave and the mark he left on us.
