Beverly Ann (Broome) Krajicek, 80, a loving grandmother and longtime piano teacher in Sarpy County, died Sunday surrounded by loved ones at her home in Papillion, Neb.
Beverly was a Wisconsin native--born in Madison and raised in Rice Lake. She graduated from the former Barron County (Wis.) Teachers College and the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire. Beverly taught during the 1960s at Sts. Peter & Paul in South Omaha, where she met and married Ed Krajicek, a widower with eight children. The couple settled in rural Sarpy County, where Beverly enjoyed a nearly 50-year career as a piano teacher, training many hundreds of youngsters. She was a voracious reader of both literary fiction and historical nonfiction, and she doted on—and was delighted by--her 14 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward L. Krajicek Sr., longtime proprietor of the Lodge Bar & Café in LaPlatte; her parents, William and Vera (Jacoby) Broome; and stepsons Richard and Edward L. Krajicek Jr. She is survived by her son, William Krajicek, his wife, Jennifer, and grandchildren Hannah, Jared and Carter; sisters Mary Berhow (Ben) and Margie Hubler (John); brothers William (Luz), Daniel (Karine), Brad (Michelle) and Doug (Tami) Broome. She is also survived by stepchildren Colleen Krajicek, David J. Krajicek (Karen), Carol Strazdas (Ed), Julie Krajicek (George), Helen Harris (Alan) and Marie Bartlett (Edd), as well as 11 step-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
