August, better known as Gus, lived a full and loved life. He was a strong, generous, God-fearing man. His loves in life were dancing, spending time with his family, playing cards, keno, staying active, laughing, and he always loved a great big party. He married Rose Boukal in 1950 and proceeded to have the big family he always dreamed of. He served in the Army in World War II, for which he recently earned a State of Nebraska World War II Recognition Medal.
Gus held many titles Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Brother, Friend. He lived a meaningful and filled life, shared with his loved ones.
Gus was preceded in death by his wife Rose Boukal and grandson Jeromy Heeren.
He is survived by daughter Linda Wess and son-in-law Ron Wess, daughter Sharon Boukal, son Jim Boukal and daughter-in-law Darlene Boukal, and daughter Sandy Boukal. Grandkids Kevin Boukal, Tracey Pipkin and husband Scott, Kurtis Boukal and wife Tricia, Michael Tylski, Krystal Boukal, and step-grandchildren Chris Wess and Jenny Wess. Great-grandkids Kyley, Maddie, Lily, Kaylee, Kolton, Kyler, and step-great grandchildren Dante, Jessalyn, James, Jaymie, and Trinity.
Gus kept everyone around him smiling and was a strong leader of the family. He passed surrounded by family and with all his wishes intact. We know we will see him again once we join Him in Heaven.
