Brandes, Arlene D.Arlene was born on her parents farm near Alcester, So. Dak, to John H. andHulda (Reiser) Wendel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan C.Brandes, parents, brother, Robert J. Wendel, sister, Helen WendelHartman. Arlene is survived by sons, Jeffrey McCart of Bellevue Ne,Ronald McCart, Kansas City, and Randall (Lynnette) McCart, Omaha. Also, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, niece, Dorothy Jean Hartman, and several cousins. 

Arlene and Alan lived in Omaha until he passed away in 1994, and then moved to Bellevue, Ne. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Omaha, for many years, and then transferred in Hanscom Park United Methodist Church, Omaha, and a member since 1975, and then transferred to Thanksgiving Church in 2015 until present.

 Arlene loved to travel, visiting all 50 states, most territories in Canada, andseveral European countries. She enjoyed secretarial work, especially at First Lutheran Church, Omaha, and then District Secretary for UnitedMethodist Church, retiring after 19 years in that position.
